Odds and ends roundup; and What’s coming, Part 2 of 2

[Edit 9/21/13. Edit 10/11/13.]

You say you want simple, and light? Fun notes for today’s tablet-or-smartphone, peer-at-alerts-on-the-street culture? (For those so devil-may-care optimistic and adult-childlike that they might say, “But we’re forgetting that Hitler may have been a fine dancer”?)

Let’s try…

Various items are coming, in addition to what I noted here.

* There are a few movie reviews, including of A.I. Artificial Intelligence (either on this blog or on my other blog).

* I will cover (on this  blog) one or two 1970s movies that I will try to make interesting/relevant (including one in which Dustin Hoffman has quite long hair and occasionally shuffles like a schlemiel [update: actually, on further viewing, he isn't quite that bad, but you'll see how, overall, he does; update 10/11/13: I was talking about All the President's Men, my review for which is here], looking like quite the ’70s Special; no, not Midnight Cowboy, a 1969 movie).

* I have long wanted to do something on Apocalypse Now; we’ll see….

* I don’t think there are any more entries in the “On the fly” series. No bear activity—or no bear visible on or near my property—since mid-August. Once, in August, an apparent raccoon or two overturned a barrel with cans and bottles; not a big deal.

There were some natural phenomena including an episode with a small, nonpoisonous snake in a house, in late August. I may not do that entry (it was interesting for days, but less so now).

And other entries of import are brewing….
